Description
Sterling by Music Man finally brings the Majesty shape into 7-string territory, and it’s every bit the technical playground Petrucci fans have been waiting for. Built around a mahogany body and a 3-piece mahogany set neck, the MAJ170 in Arctic Dream offers unrestricted access to all 24 medium jumbo frets, thanks to the sculpted neck joint that Majesty guitars are known for.
The rosewood fingerboard carries a 16″ radius and Petrucci’s custom JP inlays, while a 1.95″ nut width keeps the extra low string manageable without feeling cramped. A dual-action truss rod and locking tuners handle stability, and the Sterling-designed Modern Tremolo bridge lets you add pitch expression without losing tuning integrity.
Electronics are where this guitar earns its keep on stage: the HH pickup pair runs through a 3-way toggle plus a push-push volume pot that kicks in an active 12dB boost the instant you pull it out – great for punching up solos or driving a boosted amp channel without reaching for a pedal. A single tone knob rounds out the control set.
