Description
Built alongside Guthrie Govan over two years of development, this signature Charvel is engineered for players who demand both technical reach and tonal range. The San Dimas-shaped body pairs caramelized basswood with a flame maple top under a thin satin urethane finish, while a contoured, neck-plate-free heel joint opens up the upper frets for lead work without compromise.
The bolt-on neck is two-piece flame maple, caramelized through heat and drying to feel and resonate like a vintage-worn instrument, then reinforced with graphite and finished in hand-rubbed urethane gel. A heel-end truss rod wheel keeps adjustments quick. Uncommon for a San Dimas design, the fingerboard is also caramelized flame maple with a 12″-16″ compound radius stretching across two full octaves. Twenty-four jumbo stainless frets, maple dot inlays ringed in ebony, and glow-in-the-dark Luminlay side markers round out the playing surface.
Tonal versatility comes from three custom-wound Charvel MF pickups in an HSH layout, routed through 5-way switching plus a 2-way mini toggle that unlocks single-coil simulation from either humbucker. Master volume and tone are handled via numbered Luminlay dome knobs. Hardware includes a U.S.-made recessed Charvel locking tremolo fitted with a Tremol-No unit and oversized brass block, a bone nut, Sperzel locking tuners, and chrome finishing throughout.
