Description
The Affinity Series Stratocaster HSS takes Fender’s most iconic body shape and gives it a modern pickup twist: a humbucker at the bridge for thicker, higher-output tones alongside two single coils in the neck and middle positions for the glassy, quacky sounds Strats are known for. It’s a setup that covers everything from blues and funk to rock and metal without swapping guitars.
An alder body keeps the tone balanced and resonant, finished in a deep Montego Black Metallic polyurethane coat that looks sharp under stage lights. The bolt-on maple neck carries a rosewood fingerboard with 21 medium jumbo frets and simple dot inlays, giving players a fast, familiar feel whether they’re bending strings up high or working through open chords.
Fender dressed this Affinity model with some nice retro touches: a large ’60s-style headstock, white plastic parts, and a black silkscreen logo that nod to vintage Strats while keeping the price accessible. Chrome hardware throughout includes a synchronized tremolo bridge for smooth pitch dives and subtle vibrato work.
