Description
The SJAG-2 is Seymour Duncan’s neck-position answer for players who want their Jaguar to growl a little harder. Still a genuine single-coil at heart, it’s wound for higher output than a stock vintage Jaguar pickup, trading some of that glassy thinness for a rounder, fuller voice with noticeably more sustain and midrange body than the standard SJAG-1.
That extra push makes it a strong fit for country twang, surf leads, pop rhythm work, blues, and even classic or heavy rock tones where a typical Jaguar pickup might feel a bit thin. The custom coil is matched to the magnetic pole pieces specifically to get that beefed-up response without losing the single-coil character that makes Jaguars distinctive.
A few things to know before you buy:
- Neck position pickup, reverse wound for hum-cancelling operation when paired with its matching bridge pickup
- True single-coil design, not a stacked or humbucker-style unit
- Ships without a cover or the Jaguar “claw” grounding piece
If your current neck pickup sounds too polite for the music you’re playing, this is a direct, drop-in way to add some muscle while keeping the Jaguar’s signature snap.
