The Schecter Omen Extreme-6 FR in Black Cherry pairs a mahogany body with a quilted maple top, giving it warmth underfoot and visual depth on stage. A double-cutaway silhouette and contoured heel open up the fast maple neck, letting your fretting hand roam freely across all 24 jumbo frets on the rosewood board without fighting the body. Rosewood’s natural oils soak up stray overtones, so notes come out rounder and richer in fundamental than a maple board would give you.
Power comes from a pair of Schecter Diamond Plus pickups — overwound coils around ceramic magnets built to shove your amp into aggressive, high-output territory. They’re tuned for crunchy rhythm parts, blistering leads, and drop tunings, cutting through a dense mix rather than getting buried in it. Pull up on the push/pull knob and the humbuckers split to a brighter, sparkling single-coil voice, giving you two very different personalities from one guitar. A master volume and tone control, plus a 3-way toggle, keep the switching simple.
Bridge duties fall to a Floyd Rose Special tremolo, the Korea-made licensed version built to Original Floyd Rose specs but with zinc alloy saddles and sustain block in place of steel and brass — smooth whammy travel with dependable tuning stability. Schecter’s own sealed, lubricated tuners run a 15:1 gear ratio for precise tuning that stays put.
