Description
The Omen Extreme 6 is built for players who bounce between heavy riffing and cleaner, more articulate passages without switching guitars. Its mahogany body wears a quilted maple cap and is bolted to a maple neck, a combination that keeps the bright snap of maple pushing energy into the warmer, rounder voice of the mahogany underneath.
A rosewood fingerboard covers 24 jumbo frets, finished with vector inlays and creme multi-ply binding for a clean, upscale look. Rosewood’s natural oils soak up stray overtones, giving notes a fuller, more grounded fundamental compared to a maple board.
Schecter’s own Diamond Plus pickups anchor the tone. These are overwound, ceramic-loaded humbuckers built for high output – the kind of pickup that thrives on crunchy rhythm work, drop-tuned riffing, and leads that need to cut through a dense mix. Pull up on the push-pull tone knob and the humbuckers split to a brighter, single-coil-flavored voice for added tonal range.
Hardware includes a Tune-O-Matic bridge with Schecter’s string-thru-body design, which adds string tension and sustain while keeping intonation stable. Schecter’s own sealed, lubricated tuners run a 15:1 gear ratio for precise, low-maintenance tuning, finished in black chrome to match the guitar’s dark hardware theme.
