Description
The Schecter Omen 8 hands guitarists an extra low string without abandoning the playability that makes Schecter’s Omen line such a popular starting point for extended-range players. It’s built around a Basswood body and bolt-on Maple neck, a combination chosen for its bright, focused tone that pushes energy efficiently through the instrument and cuts through dense mixes.
Down on the 26.5″ scale Rosewood fingerboard, 24 jumbo frets and Pearloid semi-goth inlays give you plenty of room to roam, whether you’re tracking crushing rhythm parts or picking out lead lines in drop tunings. Rosewood’s natural oils round off harsh overtones and thicken up the fundamental, which pairs nicely with the eight-string’s extended low end.
Powering it all is a single Schecter Diamond Plus Omen-8 pickup, an overwound, ceramic-loaded design made specifically for aggressive output. It’s voiced to drive an amp hard for crunchy rhythms and blistering leads, and it stays articulate even when you’re tuned down. A Vol/Tone/3-way switch layout keeps the electronics simple and reliable.
Hardware includes Schecter’s own sealed, lubricated tuners with a 15:1 gear ratio for accurate, drift-free tuning, plus a Schecter CTM-8 bridge, all finished in black chrome. Bindings on this Walnut Satin model are Black.
