The Hellraiser C-7 FR is Schecter’s answer to players who need a 7-string that can handle both crushing rhythm work and precise lead lines without falling apart under pressure. That extra low B string opens up a wider range for heavy riffing, and everything about this build is designed to keep it sounding tight rather than muddy.
- Neck: A 3-piece mahogany neck resists warping from seasonal humidity and temperature swings, staying straight for the long haul.
- Fingerboard: Rosewood, with 24 jumbo frets across a 26.5″ scale – the extra length helps keep string tension even and intonation solid on the low B.
- Pickups: EMG’s Active 707tw pickups were built specifically to solve the classic 7-string problem of a flabby, indistinct low string. Alnico V magnets and wide-aperture coils tighten up the bottom end while keeping harmonics – natural and artificial – clear and articulate. Coil-tapping via the push-pull volume knobs lets you thin things out for cleaner, single-coil-ish tones when needed.
- Bridge: A Floyd Rose 1000 Series double-locking tremolo means you can dive bomb and pull up without losing tuning stability, locking the strings at both the nut and bridge.
- Tuners: Grover Rotomatics with an 18:1 gear ratio give you fine-tuned precision and minimal backlash when you’re setting things up.
Electronics are kept straightforward with dual volume controls (each tappable), a single tone knob, and a 3-way pickup switch. Hardware throughout is finished in black chrome, and the whole thing is wrapped in a clean white gloss finish that shows off the set-neck construction with Ultra Access for smoother upper-fret playing.
