Description
The Hellraiser C-7 is Schecter’s answer to players who need a seventh string that actually sounds good — not muddy, not lifeless, just tight and articulate no matter how far down you tune. Finished in a striking White Gloss and paired here with an SGR-1C case, this guitar is built for extended-range riffing without sacrificing playability.
At the heart of the tone are EMG Active 707tw pickups, a coil-tappable design that’s been the go-to choice for 7-string players since 2001. The Alnico V wide-aperture coils give the low B string real definition and punch, so harmonics jump out clean instead of collapsing into mush. A 3-way switch and dual coil-tap volume controls let you dial between full humbucker output and a leaner, single-coil-style voice.
The 3-piece mahogany neck is set for stability, resisting the warping and shifting that solid single-piece necks can develop over years of climate changes. It’s topped with a rosewood fingerboard across 24 jumbo frets — rosewood’s natural oils give the tone a warmer, richer fundamental compared to maple. Schecter’s locking tuners add another layer of tuning security, with a 19:1 gear ratio for fine adjustments and a locking pin that keeps strings firmly anchored.
Anchoring it all is a TonePros TOM bridge with through-body stringing, which eliminates the wobble and thread play found in standard bridges. The result is better sustain, cleaner harmonics, and tuning that holds up under aggressive playing.
