The Hellraiser C-1 Sustaniac is built for players who want more than distortion and speed – it wants to sing. At the heart of that voice is the EMG 81/Sustainiac pairing: the 81’s ceramic-magnet aggression handles your rhythm and lead tones with cutting high-end clarity, while the Sustainiac driver takes over when you flip its switch, locking into an electromagnetic feedback loop that lets notes hang in the air far longer than natural sustain would allow.
Underneath it all is a 3-piece mahogany neck set into a mahogany body (also offered with a quilted maple top), designed with Ultra Access construction so upper-fret runs stay comfortable. The three-piece neck build isn’t just cosmetic – laminating the wood this way resists warping from humidity and temperature swings, keeping the neck straight and playable for the long haul. A rosewood fingerboard rounds out the low end with a warmer, oilier tonal character than maple, and 24 jumbo frets give you plenty of real estate across the 25.5″ scale.
Abalone Gothic Cross inlays and multi-ply black/white/black binding with abalone trim give the black finish a striking, gothic edge, while black chrome hardware keeps the look cohesive. Grover Rotomatic tuners with an 18:1 gear ratio provide finer tuning resolution and better backlash control than standard tuners, and a Floyd Rose 1000 Series bridge handles whammy abuse without losing pitch stability.
