Description
The SE Silver Sky brings the design DNA of PRS’s John Mayer collaboration to a more accessible build, without watering down what makes the original so playable. A poplar body keeps things light and resonant, paired with a bolt-on maple neck carved to the 635JM profile that Mayer helped shape. An 8.5″ fretboard radius and rosewood board with PRS’s signature small bird inlays round out a neck that feels fast and familiar whether you’re comping chords or reaching for high bends.
Loaded with three 635JM “S” single-coil pickups, this guitar delivers the quack and snap that defines the Silver Sky voice, from glassy cleans to a bark that cuts through a mix when you dig in. A 5-way blade switch and volume/tone control set give you access to all the classic in-between tones, while the 2-point steel tremolo lets you add pitch movement without losing tuning stability. Vintage-style non-locking tuners and a synthetic bone nut keep the setup simple and road-friendly.
Other details borrowed straight from the original: the inverted headstock shape and a double-acting truss rod that’s adjustable from the front of the headstock, so you’re not fumbling at the heel mid-set.
