Description
The Dominion DX2 is Mark Morton’s take on what a modern signature guitar should be: distinctive looks with the guts to back up brutal riffing. Its offset body shape is unlike anything else on the rack, chambered from mahogany to keep the guitar lively and resonant without piling on weight.
- Chambered mahogany offset Dominion body for a resonant, lightweight feel
- Graphite-reinforced maple neck runs through the body for rock-solid stability and extended sustain
- Bound laurel fingerboard with a 12″-16″ compound radius, easing from comfortable chording near the nut to effortless bends up high
- 22 medium jumbo frets for smooth note access across the entire range
- Pearloid dot inlays for classic, unobtrusive positioning cues
That through-body neck construction is the real secret here — by running the neck straight through the body instead of bolting or gluing it on, energy transfers more directly, giving notes room to bloom and hang longer. Combined with the graphite reinforcement, the neck stays true even under heavy string tension and aggressive playing.
Up top, the compound radius fingerboard is designed with real playing in mind: rounder near the headstock for rhythm work, flatter toward the upper frets so bends and leads don’t fret out. Whether you’re locking into a breakdown or tearing through a solo, the DX2 is built to keep pace with Mark Morton’s own demanding style.
