Description
Gus G. built his reputation as one of metal’s most fearsome lead players, touring and recording with Firewind, Ozzy Osbourne, Arch Enemy and Dream Evil while racking up over a dozen studio albums. When Ozzy handpicked him in 2009, Gus G. joined a lineage of Jackson players stretching back to Randy Rhoads himself. This X Series Star model puts his signature into a shape that’s been part of Jackson’s DNA since day one, finished here in Snow White with sharp black pinstripes.
The mahogany body pairs with a one-piece maple neck-through-body construction, reinforced by graphite rods and a scarf joint for stability under aggressive playing. A 12″ radius rosewood fingerboard is bound and loaded with 24 jumbo frets, dressed up with pearloid sharkfin inlays that echo the guitar’s aggressive lines.
Tone comes from a matched set of Seymour Duncan Gus G. Signature Blackouts (AHB-11S), an active humbucker pairing voiced for high-gain clarity and punch. Controls stay simple – one master volume and a 3-way toggle – so nothing gets in the way of the riff. Hardware includes a Jackson compensated, adjustable bridge with anchored tailpiece, Jackson die-cast locking tuners, and a pointed 6-in-line headstock, all finished in black to match the pinstripe theme.
