Description
The RR1 is Jackson’s flagship take on the Randy Rhoads shape, built entirely in the USA on a neck-through-body construction that fuses quartersawn Eastern hard rock maple straight into an alder body via a scarf joint. That kind of joinery isn’t just tradition — it means sustain and stability that bolt-on necks can’t match, especially once you start hanging on the Floyd Rose Original double-locking tremolo.
The ebony fingerboard runs a compound radius from 12″ to 16″, so chords near the nut feel rounded and comfortable while bends up at the 22nd jumbo fret stay slinky and buzz-free. Mother-of-pearl sharkfin inlays and a bound board and headstock dress it up without straying from the aggressive, angular Rhoads silhouette.
Electronics come from Seymour Duncan: a direct-mount Zebra JB TB4 in the bridge for cutting, high-output lead tone, paired with a smoother Jazz SH2N in the neck for warmer rhythm and lead work. A three-way toggle and independent tone controls for each pickup give you real tonal range beyond the usual single-tone-knob setup.
Everything is finished in black, right down to the hardware, die-cast tuners, and switch tips, for a look as no-nonsense as the guitar plays. The Floyd Rose Original locking nut keeps tuning rock-solid through heavy tremolo use.
