Description
The Rhoads silhouette has been a metal staple for decades, and Jackson’s X Series version delivers that iconic shape without the boutique price tag. This RRXMG comes finished in striking white with black pinstripes, its neck-through-body maple construction extending seamlessly into the basswood body for sustain that just doesn’t quit.
Under the hood, an EMG 81 in the bridge and EMG 85 in the neck give you the active-pickup punch that defined thrash and shred alike: tight low end, cutting mids, and highs that cut through a wall of gain. Flip the 3-way blade switch and you’ve got bridge-only snarl, a blended humbucker tone, or a warmer neck voice for leads. The bound rosewood fingerboard uses a compound radius, curving tighter near the nut for comfortable chording and flattening out toward the body for effortless low-action bends without choking out.
Speed is baked into the neck shape, and 24 jumbo frets give you full range to roam. Locking down the whole package is a Floyd Rose Special double-locking two-point tremolo, paired with a Floyd Rose Special locking nut, so aggressive whammy work stays stable and in tune. Black hardware, a black-painted headstock with white Jackson logo, and knurled dome control knobs round out the look.
