Description
Chris Broderick earned his reputation shredding through Megadeth with technical precision most guitarists only dream of, and this signature Soloist 7 was built with him at the Jackson Custom Shop alongside Master Builder Mike Shannon to keep pace with that playing style. The offset arch-top mahogany body carries a quilt maple top that repeats on the matching headstock, giving the black finish some visual depth without straying from a metal-ready aesthetic.
The quartersawn maple neck is bound in quilt maple and meets a Jackson Floyd Rose nut, while natural binding wraps both the body and headstock for a clean contrast against the black. An ebony fingerboard with a 12″ radius and 24 jumbo stainless steel frets gives low action and fast bends across the full 25.5″ scale, with a 1.875″ nut width accommodating the 7-string spread.
Broderick-designed Custom DiMarzio pickups sit direct-mounted in both neck and bridge positions, wired to master volume, master tone, and a killswitch for those staccato chops. The 3-way toggle covers bridge, combined, and neck settings. A recessed Floyd Rose Pro bridge with black hardware handles the whammy work, Planet Waves Auto-Trim tuners speed up string changes, and a side-mounted Rhoads jack keeps the output cable out of the way on stage.
