The G6659TG takes the Broadkaster name — long tied to Gretsch’s most serious center block guitars — and puts it on a trimmed-down single-cutaway body built for players who want that trademark growl and chime without the bulk. A chambered spruce center block keeps things resonant and comfortably light while cutting down on feedback, so it holds up at stage volume just as well as it does at home.
Driving the sound are two U.S.-made Full’Tron pickups, voiced with extra midrange push so overdriven and distorted passages stay articulate rather than muddy, all while retaining the balance and brilliance Gretsch is known for. Squeezebox paper-in-oil capacitors round out the tone circuit for a warmer, more vintage-correct roll-off when you back down the tone knob.
