The G6659TFM Players Edition Broadkaster Jr. Center Block takes Gretsch’s flagship semi-hollow concept and trims it down without losing the punch. That chambered spruce center block is the key: it tames feedback at stage volume while keeping the resonant, woody character that separates a real hollowbody-style guitar from a solid slab. The slightly reduced single-cutaway body sits comfortably against the ribs and adds a bit more tonal focus compared to its larger siblings, making it an easier guitar to wrangle live.
Finished in Dark Cherry Stain over tiger-flame maple with a matching flamed headstock, this one’s built to be looked at as much as played. A pair of U.S.-made Full’Tron pickups anchor the sound — they carry Gretsch’s signature chime and top-end sparkle, but with an added push of midrange growl that helps the guitar cut through when you dig in with overdrive or distortion. Wiring is straightforward Gretsch: individual volumes for neck and bridge, a master volume, master tone, and a 3-way toggle for switching between or blending the two pickups.
