Description
The G6118T Anniversary revives a design Gretsch built in 1958 to mark its 75th year, right down to the two-tone smoke green finish borrowed from the era’s automotive palette. It’s part of the Professional Collection and built as a true hollow body, with a laminated maple back, sides, and arched top wearing a gloss urethane finish. Body depth runs 2.5″ with a 16″ lower bout, and multiple layers of binding trace the outline for a tidy, vintage-correct look.
The maple neck carries an ebony fingerboard with a 12″ radius, 22 frets, and Neo-Classic thumbnail inlays, all bound for a clean finish. Scale length sits at 24.6″ with a 1.6875″ nut width, giving it that distinct Gretsch feel under the hand. A black headstock overlay with a chrome Anniversary plate adds a nod to the original’s celebratory branding.
Tone comes from a pair of High Sensitive Filter’Tron pickups, switched via the classic 3-position toggle (bridge, both, neck) and shaped further by a 3-position master tone switch offering different levels of high-frequency roll-off. Individual neck and bridge volume knobs sit alongside a master volume for full control. Hardware includes an ebony-based Space Control roller bridge, a Bigsby B6C vibrato tailpiece with the Gretsch logo and flat handle, and Grover Sta-Tite die-cast tuners, all finished in chrome.
Other details worth noting:
- Green plexi pickguard with black Gretsch logo
- Synthetic bone nut
- Knurled strap retainer knobs
- Adjustable truss rod
- G-Arrow control knobs
Arrives with a G6241 deluxe hardshell case.
