Description
The G5655TG Center Block Jr. shrinks the Electromatic formula down into a smaller, stage-friendly single-cut without losing the punch that makes Gretsch hollow-bodies so distinctive. A chambered spruce center block sits inside the body, giving you the airy resonance and feedback resistance you want when the amp is cranked, plus a noticeably lighter guitar on your shoulder over a long set.
Up top, a 12″ radius laurel fingerboard carries 22 medium jumbo frets and NeoClassic thumbnail inlays, striking a comfortable balance for chord work and lead lines alike. The dual Black Top Broad’Tron humbucking pickups are voiced for clarity and bite, translating everything from clean jangle to overdriven crunch with articulate low-end control and a forward midrange snap.
Gold hardware throughout gives this model its visual edge – a Bigsby B70 vibrato tailpiece for pitch-bending twang, an anchored Adjusto-Matic bridge for solid intonation, and G-arrow knobs that tie the look together with a matching gold pickguard. It’s finished in Cerulean Smoke, one of five available finishes in this series alongside Aspen Green, Azure Metallic, Black Gold, and Orange Stain.
