Description
The G2655 Streamliner Center Block Junior takes the classic Gretsch semi-hollow formula and trims it down into a compact double-cutaway that’s easier to wrangle onstage without giving up an ounce of attitude. Underneath the arched laminated maple top runs a lightweight spruce center block, a feature that tightens up the low end and keeps feedback in check even when you’re pushing a high-gain amp at real volume.
Powering the tone are a pair of Broad’Tron humbuckers, engineered specifically for this series. Expect a thick midrange, punchy lows, and highs that stay clear rather than icy – a voice that sits well in a mix with other guitars, bass, and drums. Controls follow Gretsch’s familiar layout: independent volume knobs for neck and bridge pickups, a master volume, master tone, and a three-way toggle for switching between them.
The nato neck carries a thin “U” profile that favors quick chord changes and lead runs alike, topped with a 12″ radius rosewood board, pearloid block inlays, and 22 medium jumbo frets. A synthetic bone nut and Adjusto-Matic bridge paired with the signature Gretsch “V” stoptail keep tuning dependable night after night.
Visually, this one leans into vintage Gretsch cues – F holes, black-and-white body binding, nickel hardware, a black single-ply pickguard with the Gretsch logo, and black vintage-style control knobs, all finished in the Flagstaff Sunset colorway.
