Description
The G2655-P90 Streamliner Center Block Jr. takes the classic Gretsch double-cut formula and dials it in for players who live on the dirtier side of the amp. At its core sits a pair of Gretsch FideliSonic 90 single-coils — pickups that keep the round, woody push of a traditional P90 but sharpen up the top end so notes stay articulate even under heavy gain. Behind them, a chambered spruce center block runs the length of the mahogany body, tightening feedback resistance and giving the guitar the volume headroom to hold its own on a loud stage.
The body is trimmed down to a 14″ width, so the arched top feels quick and easy under the arm without sacrificing the semi-hollow air and resonance. Enlarged F-holes push more acoustic voice out of the top, while the aged white binding, upgraded purfling, tortoise pickguard, stylized pickup bezels, and radio arrow knobs keep the styling firmly in vintage-Gretsch territory. A V-shaped stoptail paired with the anchored Adjusto-Matic bridge locks in tuning stability and sustain for players who’d rather skip the vibrato altogether.
Up the nato neck, a 12″-radius laurel board hosts 22 medium jumbo frets and pearloid oval inlays, all set to a 24.75″ scale and 1.68″ bone nut. Wiring is straightforward but flexible: master volume, master tone, individual pickup volume knobs, and a three-way toggle give you full control over blending and shaping the FideliSonic tone.
