Description
The G2420 Streamliner Hollow Body brings That Great Gretsch Sound into a package built for guitarists who want vintage charm without sacrificing output. This single-cutaway hollow body wraps arched laminated maple construction around a set of Broad’Tron BT-2S humbuckers, pickups engineered exclusively for the Streamliner Collection. Expect tighter low-end control than you’d get from a traditional filter’tron-style pickup, along with clear top-end sparkle and a midrange that has real bite when you dig in.
Playability comes from a nato neck carved into a thin “U” profile, fast under the hand for chords and lead runs alike. The 12″ radius laurel fingerboard carries 22 medium jumbo frets and pearloid Hump Block inlays, all trimmed in aged white binding that matches the body. Tuning stays solid thanks to the Chromatic II tailpiece and Adjusto-Matic bridge seated on a secured laurel base, with a synthetic bone nut rounding out the hardware at the other end.
Controls follow Gretsch’s traditional layout – independent volume for neck and bridge pickups, a master tone and master volume, and three-way switching – giving you quick access to a wide tonal range on the fly. Visually, it’s all the hallmarks fans expect: enlarged F-holes for extra acoustic breathing room, a three-ply tortoise pickguard, nickel hardware, and vintage-style black knobs, all finished in the warm gradient of Aged Brooklyn Burst.
