The Godin xtSA Koa Ltd is built for players who don’t want to choose between electric grit, acoustic warmth, and synth textures – it hands you all three in a single instrument. The humbucker-single-humbucker configuration runs through a 5-way switch that lets meaty humbucker tones sit alongside glassy split-coil sounds in positions two and four, covering a wide stylistic range.
Roll back the magnetic pickups and bring up the RMC transducer saddles, and the xtSA shifts into a surprisingly authentic acoustic voice, shaped further by an onboard preamp with a three-band graphic EQ. Dual outputs give you flexibility on how you use both sides: blend electric and acoustic signals right in the guitar with a single patch cord, or keep them separate and mix at the amp or console. Underneath it all sits a built-in 13-pin connector, wired for direct, reliable tracking with Roland GR-Series synths and other 13-pin-compatible gear – Godin’s synth-ready instruments are known for this kind of tracking accuracy.
None of this would matter much if the guitar wasn’t comfortable to play, so Godin carried over the 25½” scale mahogany neck from its flagship LGX-SA. The ebony fingerboard uses Godin’s ergocut shaping and medium jumbo frets for a fast, familiar feel. Construction pairs a silverleaf maple center block with poplar wings, and this particular model wears a highly figured KOA top, giving it a distinct look to match its layered sound.
