The ASAT Classic represents Leo Fender’s refined vision for the bolt-on single-cutaway electric, and the Tribute Series brings that design within reach without cutting corners on tone. This example wears a Tobacco Sunburst finish over a Swamp Ash body, paired with a Hard-Rock Maple neck and matching maple fingerboard for extra bite and clarity up top.
Power comes from a pair of Leo Fender-designed MFD single-coil pickups, built in Fullerton, California. The bridge pickup snaps with crisp attack and layered harmonic content, while individual brass saddles on the traditional boxed-steel bridge let you dial in precise intonation. Switch to the neck pickup for a warmer, rounder voice that moves easily between clean jazz phrasing and grittier blues textures. Blend both pickups together and you land somewhere new entirely—a tonal middle ground that’s earned a loyal following among players who’ve spent time with the original ASAT.
The maple neck carries a medium C profile, a 9″ radius, and 22 medium jumbo nickel frets, giving it a comfortable, fast-playing feel whether you’re fingerpicking or bending strings. Sealed-back tuning keys with an 18:1 ratio keep tuning stable through long sets.
