Description
Built at G&L’s Fullerton, California facility, the Fullerton Deluxe Legacy HSS takes the tried-and-true Legacy platform and adds humbucker punch without losing the vintage character G&L is known for. Designed under G&L VP of Engineering Paul Gagon, this HSS configuration pairs a G&L AW4470 alnico bridge humbucker with G&L CLF-100 alnico single coils in the neck and middle, giving you fat rock tones alongside airy, classic in-between sounds. A coil-split switch lets the bridge humbucker convincingly mimic a single coil, complete with ringing harmonic detail, so you’re not locked into one tonal lane.
Leo Fender’s PTB (Passive Treble and Bass) system works across all three pickups here, offering far more shaping range than a standard tone knob setup by letting you cut treble and bass independently. The Dual-Fulcrum vibrato bridge, another Leo Fender design, delivers smooth pitch bends in either direction with excellent return-to-pitch stability, actuated by a comfortable, beefy aluminum arm.
The hard-rock maple neck wears a satin finish for a fast, non-sticky feel, shaped with a comfortable 9 1/2″ fingerboard radius and finished with Jescar 57110 medium-jumbo nickel-silver frets. A G&L Clear Tint Satin finish carries the vintage-modern theme up the neck.
Available finishes:
- Jet Black over Alder, 3-ply parchment pickguard, maple fingerboard
- Electric Blue over Alder, 3-ply pearl pickguard, maple fingerboard
The Legacy HSS draws on refinements from the Leo Fender-designed S-500 and Comanche models while keeping the Alnico V single-coil tone purists chase. If you want that familiar vintage voice with added output and switching flexibility, this is a compelling pick.
