Description
The ASAT Classic Bluesboy Semi-Hollow takes Leo Fender’s classic bolt-on single-cutaway design and opens it up—literally. G&L carved twin voice chambers and an f-hole into the swamp ash body, loosening up the midrange so the low end blooms and the highs sparkle without losing the punch this platform is known for.
Pickup-wise, you get the best of both worlds. The G&L AS4255C alnico humbucker in the neck position, designed by Paul Gagon, brings smoky warmth and sustain for lead work or rhythm chording. Down at the bridge sits a Leo Fender-designed MFD single-coil, built in Fullerton, California, delivering sharp attack and harmonic complexity that cuts through a mix. Blend them with the 3-way selector and you’ll find tones ranging from glassy twang to thick, humbucker-driven grind.
The hardware backs up the tonal versatility: a traditional boxed-steel bridge with individual brass saddles keeps intonation dialed in string by string, while sealed-back tuners with an 18:1 ratio make tuning precise and stable. A Hard-Rock Maple neck with a Medium C profile and maple fretboard gives you a fast, familiar feel, topped with 22 medium jumbo nickel frets.
This is Tribute Series construction, meaning genuine G&L design and tone at a price built for gigging musicians, not collectors.
