Description
The ASAT Classic Bluesboy Semi-Hollow takes Leo Fender’s last great bolt-on design and hollows it out a bit — literally. G&L carved twin voice chambers into the swamp ash body and added an f-hole, which opens up the tone and softens the midrange punch so the low and high harmonics get to shine. It’s the same silhouette blues and roots players have leaned on for years, just with more air in the sound.
Pickup-wise, you get a G&L AS4255C alnico humbucker at the neck, designed by Paul Gagon, paired with a Leo Fender-designed MFD single-coil at the bridge — both made in Fullerton, California. The bridge pickup cuts through with a bright, complex attack, while the neck humbucker brings the thick, warm side of the voice. Run them together and the guitar reveals a surprising range, from twang to growl, especially with the semi-hollow body rounding off the edges.
The bridge is a traditional boxed-steel unit with individual brass saddles, giving you dial-in intonation without sacrificing that classic look. A Hard-Rock Maple neck with a Medium C profile and 9″ radius rosewood fingerboard keeps things comfortable across 22 medium jumbo nickel frets, and sealed-back tuners with an 18:1 ratio keep tuning stable night after night.
