Description
The Player Stratocaster HSS keeps everything that makes a Strat a Strat—chiming highs, snappy mids, and a low end with real backbone—then adds some muscle at the bridge. That’s the HSS setup at work: a Player Series Alnico 2 humbucker for thick, saturated tones, paired with Alnico 5 single-coils in the middle and neck for the glassy clarity Fender’s known for. Flip through the 5-way switch and you’ve got everything from full humbucker growl to split-coil quack to that unmistakable Strat twang.
Under your hand, the maple neck wears a “Modern C” profile—round enough to feel familiar, slim enough to move fast. Fender stretched the fingerboard to 22 medium jumbo frets on a 9.5″ radius, so bends and lead lines up top feel just as comfortable as rhythm work down low. The 2-point tremolo bridge has been refined to reduce friction against the posts, meaning smoother dive-bombs and steadier tuning between uses.
Details that round out the build: a synthetic bone nut, dual-wing string tree, sealed tuning machines, and the classic 3-ply pickguard—all finished off with the 4-bolt “F”-stamped neck plate that says this is the genuine article. It comes together in Buttercream, a warm, understated finish over an alder body that lets the classic Strat shape speak for itself.
