Description
The Jaguar has always been the odd one out in Fender’s lineup, and the Player Series version leans into that character rather than smoothing it over. Its 24″ scale and 9.5″ fingerboard radius make bends and chord voicings feel noticeably different under the fingers than a standard Stratocaster or Telecaster, especially for players coming from shorter-scale instruments or looking for something with a bit more give.
Where this model diverges from vintage Jaguars is the pickup configuration: a Player Series Alnico 3 Jaguar humbucker sits at the bridge for added punch and hum-cancelling stability, paired with an Alnico 2 Jaguar single-coil at the neck for glassy, airer cleans. That HS layout, run through simple master volume and tone controls with a 3-position blade switch, covers a wider tonal range than the guitar’s surf-rock reputation might suggest.
Built around an alder body with a satin-necked, gloss-headstock maple neck in a Modern “C” profile, it’s finished in a classic 3-Color Sunburst under gloss polyester. The pau ferro fingerboard carries 22 medium jumbo frets and white dot inlays, while a 6-saddle vintage-style bridge with floating tremolo tailpiece keeps the tuning stability reasonable without sacrificing that signature Jaguar shimmer.
