Description
The Modern Player Telecaster Thinline Deluxe takes the familiar Tele silhouette and reworks it with a decidedly unconventional spirit. Instead of the usual single-coil setup, this one packs a pair of Modern Player MP-90 pickups—chunkier, punchier single-coils that push more midrange growl and output than a standard Tele while still cleaning up nicely on the neck position. The lightweight semi-hollow mahogany body with its single F-hole keeps things resonant and comfortable, and it’s finished in a striking Black Transparent gloss polyester that lets the wood grain peek through.
Up top, a one-piece maple neck carved to a comfortable “C” profile pairs with a 9.5″ radius maple fingerboard and 22 medium jumbo frets—plenty of room to bend and dig in. A synthetic bone nut and standard truss rod keep setup straightforward, while black dot inlays give a clean, classic look.
Fender borrowed a Stratocaster hard-tail bridge for this build, giving it that vintage-style, string-through-body six-saddle setup rather than the traditional Tele bridge—part of what makes this guitar feel like a genuine hybrid rather than a straight reissue. Four skirted amp knobs handle independent volume and tone for each pickup, and a three-way toggle lets you blend or isolate the MP-90s.
