Description
Before it became an icon, Kurt Cobain’s Jaguar was just a beat-up ’65 he modified to survive the abuse of his playing style and the chaos of early Nirvana shows. Fender’s Kurt Cobain Jaguar reproduces the spirit of that guitar in a fresh, gig-ready build, blending offset styling with a hot-rodded pickup setup that has nothing to do with the original Jaguar’s surf-rock roots.
The alder body wears a 3-Color Sunburst finish and pairs with a rosewood-fingerboard neck carved in a Modern “C” profile, topped with a bound board, pearloid dot inlays, and 22 medium jumbo frets. A Stratocaster-shaped headstock with the vintage “spaghetti” logo and dual wing string trees nods to Cobain’s own guitar tweaks, while the 24″ scale and 9.5″ fingerboard radius keep the feel unmistakably Jaguar.
Tonally, this guitar means business: a DiMarzio DP103 PAF 36th Anniversary humbucker sits in the neck for warmth, while a DiMarzio DP100 Super Distortion in the bridge delivers serious grind and output. Controls run through a lead/rhythm circuit switch, with knurled chrome-dome knobs for volume, volume, and master tone, plus a three-way toggle for pickup selection.
Hardware includes a black chrome Adjusto-Matic bridge with a floating vintage-style tremolo and lock button, plus Gotoh sealed tuners for tuning stability. It ships loaded with Fender USA NPS strings (.010-.046) and is available in right- or left-handed configurations.
