Description
The Jaguar has always been the guitar for players who wanted something a little different from a Strat or a Tele, and the Classic Player Jaguar Special keeps that quirky spirit alive while quietly fixing some of the original’s rough edges. Fender kept the offset alder body, the dual-circuit lead/rhythm switching, and the surf-ready tremolo, then dialed in upgrades that make the guitar easier to trust on stage.
Chief among them: Special Design Hot single-coil Jaguar pickups that push more output and fuller low-end than a vintage-spec Jag, without losing that signature snap. The neck pocket has been re-cut with a slightly steeper back-angle, and the tremolo plate sits closer to the bridge than on original models — two changes that work together to increase string break-angle, tighten tuning stability, and cut down on the sympathetic buzz that plagued early Jaguars.
The Pau Ferro fingerboard carries a 9.5″ radius, a touch flatter than vintage Jaguars for more comfortable chording and easier bends, paired with 22 medium jumbo frets and a 24″ scale length that gives the whole neck a distinct, slinky feel. An Adjusto-Matic bridge and vintage-style floating tremolo with lock button round out the hardware, letting you dive-bomb with confidence or lock it down for standard playing.
