The Classic Player Jaguar Special takes the offbeat charm of the original Jaguar and tunes it up for players who want vintage attitude without vintage quirks. Fender reworked the neck pocket for a steeper back-angle, which pairs with the Adjusto-Matic bridge and moved-in tremolo plate to keep strings locked in place and sustain lasting longer than old-school Jaguars ever managed.
Underneath the 4-ply tortoiseshell pickguard sit two Special Design Hot single-coil Jaguar pickups, dialed in for more output and a thicker voice than the thin, spiky tone the model is known for. You still get the full lead/rhythm dual-circuit switching Jaguar players expect, complete with individual volume and tone controls per circuit, on/off slide switches for each pickup, and the signature two-position tone cut switch for quick tonal shifts mid-song.
The alder body wears a 3-Tone Sunburst polyester finish, while the maple neck carries a comfortable “C” shape profile and a Pau Ferro fingerboard set to a 9.5″ radius — flatter than vintage spec, which makes bends easier and chording more relaxed across all 22 medium jumbo frets. A 24″ scale length keeps string tension lighter, a Jaguar trait guitarists either love or find themselves surprised by.
