Description
Chris Shiflett lives a double life on guitar: Foo Fighters powerhouse by night, country picker with the Dead Peasants on the side. His signature Telecaster Deluxe splits the difference, pairing the offset-body comfort of a ’72-style Tele Deluxe with a set of humbuckers hot enough to keep up with arena rock and clean enough to swing.
The alder body wears a polyester finish and carries a 4-ply white pearloid pickguard for a bit of vintage flash. Up top, a one-piece maple neck in a comfortable “C” shape meets a 12″ radius rosewood fingerboard, so bending strings at low action feels effortless across all 21 medium jumbo frets. A “bullet” truss rod and the large Stratocaster-style headstock (stamped with Shiflett’s signature) round out the profile, while a 3-bolt neck plate with Micro-Tilt keeps setup adjustments simple.
Tone comes from a matched pair of custom-designed CS1 (bridge) and CS2 (neck) high-output humbuckers, wired to four control knobs—independent volume and tone for each pickup—plus a 3-position toggle for bridge, combined, or neck selection. A vintage-style string-through-body hardtail bridge with six saddles and Fender vintage “F”-stamped tuners deliver stable tuning and solid sustain. Fender USA 250L NPS strings (.009-.042) come strung from the factory, and a custom-stenciled hard-shell case ships with the guitar.
