Fender didn’t just tweak an old reissue formula for this one — they went back to actual vintage instruments, pulled original tooling dies out of storage, and rebuilt the American Vintage ’56 Stratocaster from the ground up to match what left the factory in mid-1956. That’s the year the Strat’s neck profile hit its most beloved shape: a thick, one-piece maple neck carved in a soft “V” with rounded shoulders that fills your hand rather than sitting under your fingers.

In this white blonde finish, the body is ash (alder on other American Vintage ’56 colorways) with deep, comfortable contouring and a single-ply white eight-hole pickguard true to the period. The three American Vintage Single-Coil ’56 Strat pickups were wound to match original period specs, delivering that glassy, slightly gritty voice through a 5-position blade switch — bridge, bridge/middle, middle, middle/neck, or neck alone, with master volume and two tone controls covering neck and bridge/middle circuits.

Vintage accuracy runs deep in the details: bone nut, chrome American Vintage synchronized tremolo, single-line Fender Deluxe vintage-style tuners with period-correct spacing, and vintage-style frets over a 7.25″ radius maple fingerboard. The 25.5″ scale neck carries a 1.650″ nut width and vintage-style heel-adjust truss rod, topped with white plastic control knobs. It ships strung with Fender USA 250R NPS strings, .010-.046.
