Description
The Stratocaster has been the template for electric guitar tone since 1954, and the American Professional series doesn’t try to reinvent it—it refines it. This one wears a classic black finish over an alder body, paired with a maple neck cut in the new Deep C profile. It sits between a Modern C and a U shape, giving your hand more to hold onto without feeling bulky, and it works equally well for chord work and single-note runs.
Pickup designer Tim Shaw voiced the three V-Mod single-coils individually for their position in the guitar, blending alnico magnet types to keep the neck and middle pickups warm while the bridge stays clear and cutting. A treble-bleed circuit on the volume control means you can back off the gain without losing top-end sparkle—handy for cleaning up your tone on the fly.
Up top, 22 narrow-tall frets make string bending more precise and keep chords intonated cleanly as you move up the neck. A bone nut adds sustain and clarity, while the redesigned pop-in tremolo arm locks in place under heavy use and can be tension-adjusted to your preference. The 2-point synchronized tremolo bridge uses bent steel saddles for smooth, stable pitch changes.
