Description
This American Professional Stratocaster HH swaps the usual single-coil trio for a pair of Tim Shaw-designed ShawBucker humbuckers, giving the Strat platform a fuller, more aggressive voice while keeping its playing feel intact. Finished in Sonic Gray over an alder body with gloss polyurethane, it’s built for players who want Strat comfort with humbucker muscle.
The maple neck uses Fender’s Deep C profile, a shape that splits the difference between Modern C and U carves for a rounder, more substantial grip. Narrow-tall frets sit atop a 9.5-inch radius rosewood fingerboard, making bends land accurately and chords ring clean all the way up the neck. A bone nut and 25.5-inch scale keep tuning stable and tone bright.
Each ShawBucker is voiced for its position – the bridge unit pushes harder output while the neck stays warmer and rounder. A 5-way blade switch unlocks split-coil settings in between the full-humbucker tones, so you’re not locked into just two sounds. The master volume runs through a treble-bleed circuit, meaning you keep top-end clarity even as you roll the volume down for cleaner rhythm textures.
Other refinements include a pop-in tremolo arm with adjustable tension so it stays put no matter how hard you dig in, plus nickel/chrome hardware throughout.
