The American Performer Mustang takes Fender’s beloved short-scale offset and refines it for today’s player, without losing what made the original such a favorite. Built in Corona, California, it pairs an alder body with a 24″ scale length, giving you slinky string tension and a comfortable, compact feel that’s especially friendly for smaller hands or quick position shifts.
Two Yosemite single-coil Mustang pickups sit at the heart of its voice, offering bright, articulate tone with plenty of character across all three switch positions. Fender’s Greasebucket tone circuit rolls off highs without adding bass mud, so you keep clarity even when dialing back the tone knob. The vintage-modern Mustang bridge and tremolo add smooth, subtle pitch modulation while staying true to the model’s roots.
Playability comes courtesy of a Modern “C”-shaped maple neck with a 9.5″ radius rosewood fingerboard and 22 jumbo frets — a combination that feels fast and modern under the fingers. Fender ClassicGear tuning machines keep things stable, while the silver ’70s-style logo and 4-ply aged white pearloid pickguard nod to the guitar’s heritage.
