Before the Stratocaster existed, nobody knew they needed it. Fender’s 1954 original rewrote the rules of electric guitar, and this American Original ’50s model brings that era back to life without sacrificing the comfort players expect today.
At the heart of the tone are three Pure Vintage ’59 single-coil Stratocaster pickups, wax-potted and built the old way — Formvar-coated coil wire, cloth-covered leads, fiber bobbins, and alnico 5 magnets. It’s the kind of construction detail that shows up in the sound: chimey, articulate, and unmistakably vintage Strat.
The maple neck wears a thick “Soft V” profile that fills the hand nicely for chord work, paired with a 9.5″ fingerboard radius that keeps single-note runs feeling smooth. Vintage-tall frets and period-correct body radii round out the old-school playing feel, while the six-point synchronized tremolo bridge and vintage-style hardware keep everything anchored to that original-era design.
Finished in gloss nitrocellulose lacquer, the body and neck are free to age and darken over time the way vintage instruments do — and the wood gets to breathe as nature intended. A vintage-style hardshell case comes along for the ride, giving this Strat proper protection worthy of its heritage.
