Description
Eddie Van Halen’s flagship design gets a hardtail makeover with the EVH Wolfgang USA HT. It keeps everything that made the original Wolfgang a favorite among high-gain players, then swaps the Floyd Rose bridge for a TonePros hard-tail unit with stop tailpiece and fine tuners. The result is a guitar that locks into tune and stays there, ideal for players who want the Wolfgang feel and tone without the maintenance demands of a floating trem.
Underneath the Stealth Grey finish sits a basswood body topped with an arched AA maple cap for punch and clarity. The quartersawn maple neck is oil-finished and reinforced with dual graphite rods for stability, capped with a compound-radius (12″-16″) AA birds-eye maple fingerboard that feels comfortable whether you’re chording low or shredding up high across all 22 vintage stainless frets. A Floyd Rose locking nut remains in place even without the trem, keeping your open strings solid during aggressive playing.
Tone comes from a pair of direct-mount EVH Wolfgang humbuckers wired through Eddie’s own three-position switching scheme, paired with custom low-friction volume and high-friction tone pots so you can dial in dynamics on the fly. Five-ply black/white binding wraps the body and headstock for a classic look, while EVH-branded tuners and a chrome Schaller string retainer round out the hardware.
