Description
The LTD EC-401 is built for players who need their guitar to keep up when the music gets aggressive. Part of ESP’s 400 series, it pairs a mahogany body with a 3-piece mahogany neck in a set-thru construction, giving you smooth, unobstructed access to the upper frets without sacrificing the sustain and low-end weight mahogany is known for. A pau ferro fingerboard with a 350mm radius and Thin U neck contour keeps the feel fast and comfortable across all 24 XJ frets.
Powering the tone is a genuine EMG 81/60 active pickup set — the EMG 81 in the bridge delivers tight, saturated high-gain output, while the EMG 60 in the neck offers a rounder, more articulate voice for leads and cleaner passages. Controls are kept simple and road-ready with a Vol/Vol/Tone/Toggle layout, so switching between pickups mid-set is instinctive.
Hardware is handled by Grover tuners for rock-solid tuning stability, paired with a TOM & Tailpiece bridge and black hardware finish that plays well against the Olympic White finish. It ships strung with D’Addario XL110 strings (.010–.046).
