The Pro-Mod San Dimas Style 2 HH HT carries forward the shred-ready DNA of Charvel’s classic ’80s builds while updating the formula with modern hardware and wiring options. Its resonant ash body is mated to a two-piece bolt-on maple neck, reinforced with graphite rods to stay true under heavy bends and changing weather. The speed neck profile and 12″-16″ compound radius maple fingerboard make chord work and lead runs feel equally natural, whether you’re barring low on the neck or reaching for bends up top.
Twenty-two jumbo frets and offset black dot inlays keep the fast-playing feel consistent all the way up the board, and the hand-rubbed urethane gel back finish gives the neck a smooth, fast grip. A thumbwheel truss rod adjustment at the heel means you can dial in relief without pulling the neck or hunting for tools.
Tone comes from a proven pairing: a Seymour Duncan JB TB-4 humbucker in the bridge for aggressive, high-output lead tone, and a Seymour Duncan ’59 SH-1N in the neck for warmth and clarity on rhythm parts. A 3-way blade switch handles pickup selection, while the volume knob’s push/pull function unlocks coil-splitting for single-coil-style tones. The No-Load tone control behaves conventionally from 1-9, then bypasses the circuit entirely at 10 for a more open, unfiltered signal straight from the pickups.
Anchoring it all is the Charvel HT6 hardtail bridge with strings-through-body construction, delivering long sustain and rock-solid intonation without the upkeep a tremolo demands.
