Description
The Sterling JP157 brings John Petrucci’s Music Man design down to earth without watering down what makes it work for demanding players. Built around an African Mahogany body and topped with a highly figured maple cap, it’s finished here in a deep Neptune Blue that shows off the grain under stage lights.
The maple neck and matching maple fretboard are bolted on with a 5-bolt joint for a stable, resonant connection between neck and body, while the 16″ fretboard radius and 24 frets give you room to dig into sweep arpeggios or lock into rhythm work across all seven strings. A 25.5″ scale length keeps intonation and string tension consistent across the extended range, and locking tuners help keep things in tune through aggressive bends and dive-bomb abuse.
Two Sterling by Music Man designed pickups sit at the heart of the JP157’s voice, paired with a 12dB active boost circuit for pushing solos or driving your amp harder without reaching for a pedal. A 3-way selector keeps switching simple, and the Full Float Modern Trem bridge lets you get expressive with pitch while staying in tune.
