Description
Designed under John Petrucci’s direction, the JP150FM brings his signature playing feel to a more accessible price point without cutting corners on the details that matter to serious players. The Island Burst finish sits over a highly figured flame maple top, giving the guitar visual depth that photos never quite capture in person.
Under the hood, the roasted hard maple neck and matching fingerboard deliver a smooth, fast-playing surface that resists the humidity swings that can throw a neck out of whack. Pearloid JP shield inlays mark the 24 medium jumbo frets, and the 16″ fingerboard radius keeps things comfortable whether you’re strumming chords or running scales up near the horn. A 5-bolt neck joint and dual-action truss rod round out a neck design built for stability under pressure.
The HH pickup configuration runs through a 3-way toggle, but the real trick is the push-push volume control, which taps a 12dB boost for solos without ever touching another knob. Pair that with the modern tremolo bridge and locking tuners, and you’ve got a guitar that stays in tune through aggressive whammy use and stays quiet until you need the extra gain.
