Description
Built to Petrucci’s own specs, the JP150DFM takes his flagship design and makes it accessible without cutting corners on playability. A mahogany body wears a flame maple top finished in Eminence Purple, giving the guitar real depth under stage lighting while keeping the weight comfortable for long sets.
The roasted maple neck is paired with an ebony fingerboard and 24 stainless steel frets in a medium jumbo profile, so bends stay smooth and fretwork stays quiet even after heavy use. A 16″ radius and slim 1.65″ nut width keep the neck fast for sweeps and legato lines, while the dual-action truss rod and 5-bolt neck joint add stability under drop tunings and aggressive playing.
Electronics are handled by a DiMarzio LiquiFire and Crunch Lab humbucker pair wired to a push/push volume boost, single tone control, and 3-way toggle — enough range to move from clean arpeggios to saturated rhythm tones without reaching for a pedal. The Modern Tremolo bridge and locking tuners keep tuning solid through whammy work, and it ships strung with Ernie Ball 2221 Regular Slinky strings.
