Description
Sterling by Music Man tore up the StingRay blueprint to build something that matches Jared Dines’ frantic, genre-hopping playing style. This is the only StingRay to carry 24 frets, and it swaps the usual pickup layout for a pair of hot-rodded humbuckers custom-wired to push heavy, saturated tones without losing clarity.
The control layout is just as unconventional. Instead of separate volume and tone knobs, you get a single stacked dual control alongside a kill switch, letting Dines chop his signal into staccato bursts mid-riff. A 3-way toggle handles pickup selection, keeping the switching side simple while the knobs get weird.
Underneath the electronics, this is still a StingRay through and through: a nyatoh body finished in Olympic White with a black pickguard, paired with a hard maple neck and matching hard maple fingerboard marked with black dots. The 25.5″ scale and 12″ radius keep bends and fast runs comfortable, while the dual-action truss rod and 5-bolt neck attachment give you room to dial in your setup over time. Gold hardware, locking tuners, and a vintage-style tremolo bridge round out the look and keep tuning stable through aggressive playing.
