Description
The Squier Affinity Series Stratocaster remains one of the most sensible entry points into the Fender world, pairing a familiar alder body with a comfortable maple neck and rosewood fingerboard. This particular model wears the eye-catching Surf Green finish, updated with the two-color headstock logo and three-ply white/black/white pickguard that debuted for 2013, giving it a slightly retro, slightly modern look on stage or in the bedroom.
Underneath the styling is a genuinely playable instrument. The “C”-shaped maple neck carries a 25.5″ scale and a 9.5″ radius fingerboard with 21 medium jumbo frets, making chords and bends feel natural whether you’re just starting out or dusting off old habits. The large ’60s-style headstock and synthetic bone nut round out the vintage-leaning profile.
Tonally, it’s pure Strat: three Standard Single-Coil pickups wired to a 5-way blade switch, giving you everything from bright, glassy bridge tones to warm neck-pickup sounds and the in-between quack that made this pickup layout famous. A master volume and two tone controls (one each for neck and middle pickups) keep shaping easy and intuitive.
Hardware-wise, you get a 6-saddle vintage-style synchronized tremolo with standard arm, chrome hardware, and standard die-cast tuning machines – all the pieces needed to dive into vibrato work or just keep tuning stable during practice.
