Description
Warren DeMartini carved out his place among 1980s guitar greats through Ratt classics like “Round and Round” and “Lay It Down,” pairing technical precision with a knack for hooks that dominated radio and MTV alike. The Seymour Duncan Warren DeMartini RTM signature pickup was built in collaboration with him to capture that exact combination of muscle and clarity.
Short for “Rattus Tonius Maximus,” the RTM is a high-output bridge humbucker wound with an Alnico 2 magnet. That magnet choice gives it a slightly softer top end than ceramic-loaded pickups, letting dense chord voicings stay articulate instead of turning to mud, while lead lines cut through with an aggressive, harmonically rich edge. It’s a pickup designed to reward the kind of fast, precise playing DeMartini is known for, without sacrificing the balance needed for rhythm work.
- High-output bridge humbucker
- Alnico 2 magnet for balanced, aggressive tone
- Trembucker spacing, built for guitars with tremolo bridges
- Reverse Zebra bobbin finish
This is the Trembucker version, with wider pole spacing to align properly with tremolo bridge pickup routes. If your guitar has a standard humbucker-spaced bridge, look for the non-Trembucker RTM instead.
Whether you’re chasing that classic Ratt tone or just want a bridge humbucker that can handle both heavy rhythm and expressive solos, the DeMartini RTM delivers signature-level performance built to Seymour Duncan’s standards.
