Ten years on, the Nick Johnston Traditional HSS still nails that rare combo of playability and personality. It’s an alder body bolted to a wenge neck carved in Johnston’s own “C” profile, finished in a striking Atomic Violet that suits the guitar’s expressive character.
The ebony fretboard, capped with 22 jumbo stainless steel frets and a 14″ radius, keeps bends smooth and chords ringing clean, while a Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut and Schecter Nouveau locking tuners help everything stay right where you tuned it. A Schecter Nouveau tremolo with Music City bridge and three-string tree gives you pitch dive-bombs without sacrificing stability.
Tone comes from the Schecter USA Nick Johnston Subatomic HSS set – a chrome-covered bridge humbucker paired with two single coils in the middle and neck. A 5-way toggle covers the usual pickup combinations, and a push-pull on the master tone knob splits that bridge humbucker for extra single-coil textures when you want them.
